A Case AGAINST Federal Anti-SPAM and telemarketing Laws!

I am not a fan of Government over regulation. I believe that the Federal government is already too intrusive in the everyday lives of average Americans. It is from this position that I argue against Federal anti-SPAM laws and telemarketing laws.

I, like the next person, do not enjoy the clockwork like timing of telemarketing calls at dinnertime. Nor am I happy to receive copious amounts of unsolicited e-mail offering anything from prescription drugs to larger breasts(something I do not figure I need). Federal regulation is not the answer to these problems.

Why is the public looking to the Federal government and not their Internet provider or phone service to solve these problems. I believe the American public has become all to reliant on the Federal Government to solve all the problems effecting their world while refusing to call on the market place to seek the solutions the public desires.

With government intervention to publicly sought solutions, you eliminate a potentially large future industry. Why can't some young MIT grad develop some code to prevent SPAM and in the process make himself rich? Why can't some garage electrician develop some device that prevents telemarketing calls from reaching the phone? By allowing the market place to find theses solutions, you create jobs, create a new industry, and create a new mode for capital in the stream of commerce. Theses were the principles that this country's economy was built on; demand, invention, and marketing.

In the past, if there was a public need, the market place filled that need. One could only imagine how today's government would react to past problems such as the need for higher speed transportation, the need to better separate cotton, or the need to provide power to industrial manufacturing. All these problems were solved by industrious Americans who saw a need and develop a product to fulfill that need. Now, the government is the mode in which public demand is sought to solve problems. Unfortunately, government solutions to public demand are neither industrious nor based on invention, but rather rooted in regulating in manner consistent public demand.

Do not fall into the trap of expedience in order to solve public demand. Allow the Market place to solve problems and the Nation will be better off for it. Just look at the economic situation in those nations that consistently utilize government action to solve public needs (France and Germany specifically) and you will soon see the folly of this path.

A recent Report claims that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have secretly struck a deal that would make The Saudi bastion of terror a nuclear power in the near future. This is VERY disturbing and could signify the opening of the next campaign in The War on Terror.

The report suggests that Saudi Arabia is seeking a "nuclear deterrent." The question remains, a deterrent from whom? Do they suspect that, in spite of the recent efforts to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power, Iran will regardless acquire nuclear technology? Or do they believe that they will become the next target in the world's effort to defeat Islamo-fascism?

The latter question raises another interesting follow-on question, Does Saudi Arabia have something to hide? This report suggests that they do.

The fact is, Saudi Arabia is one of the largest supporters of terror. They spread the same form of radical Islam throughout the world that inspired the attacks of September 11 and suicide bombings in Israel. Does their effort, if the story turns out to be true, signify the laying of the ground for an epic battle between the West(France and Germany excluded) and Islamo-Fascists in the land of Mecca? Time will only tell, but one fact remains VERY evident, the stakes in the current war on Terror are much larger and much more global then some may have you believe. If Europe and Asia's oil supply comes under the control of Radical Islamic Fascists who posses nuclear capabilities, they will have the ability to freeze industrialized nations and create a Global economic meltdown. They will have the power to control global markets with impunity and bring the Modern "infidel" world to their knees. Ironically, this was the very goal the Saddam Hussein sought and it seems that this madman's torch has been picked up by Saudi Arabia

Here is a good article from Stratfor.com comparing JFK and the Cuban missile crisis to President Bush and the War on terror. It is well worth the read!

President Bush's job approval is up according to the new CNN/Gallup poll!
We could be witnessing the makings of a landslide victory for the President in 2004. With the current nine Democrat candidates' lies and mischaracterization of the situation in Iraq , the American people will most likely determine that ANY member of that party is not suited to lead this country during these troubling times. The election, however, is still a long way away, and much can happen in that period of time, but the American people are showing their confidence in President Bush's leadership and ability to steer the country in these troubled waters.

Abraham Lincoln once said:

"The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves, and then we shall save our country. "

The American people see the President doing just what Lincoln called for so very long ago. The American people understand the nature of the epic struggle we are engaged in and appreciate the President's actions during these times, and have no patients for the "politics as usual" attitude the Democrats are taking. One sure way to lose an election is to play politics with the safety of Americans! I suspect, that it is going to be a big loss for the Democrats on 2004!

New Report Discloses Dozens of Weapons of Mass Destruction Program Activities in Iraq

According to the Wall Street Journal a new report shows that Saddam Hussein had "dozens of WMD-related program activities and significant amounts of equipment that Iraq concealed from the United Nations during the inspections that began in late 2002." The Wall Street Journal makes note of the findings to rebut other media reports that say the latest inspections by U.S. inspector, David Kay have unearthed no new information in his short, three month search.

The revelations about Hussein's weapons of terror include a prison laboratory complex "possibly used in human testing of BW agents" in addition to strains of biological organisms that could be used as weapons, reports the Journal. The assignment has also served to spotlight Saddam's success in deceiving the United Nations and the world as to the state of his weapons programs.

The Wall Street Journal concludes by saying, "Even if no stockpiles are ever found, the Kay report provides ample proof of Saddam's WMD threat and how much safer the world is with him out of power."

This is what Kay has found SO FAR:

*A clandestine network of laboratories and safehouses within the Iraqi Intelligence Service that contained equipment subject to UN monitoring and suitable for continuing CBW research.

* A prison laboratory complex, possibly used in human testing of BW agents, that Iraqi officials working to prepare for UN inspections were explicitly ordered not to declare to the UN.

* Reference strains of biological organisms concealed in a scientist's home, one of which can be used to produce biological weapons.

* New research on BW-applicable agents, Brucella and Congo Crimean Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF), and continuing work on ricin and aflatoxin were not declared to the UN.

* Documents and equipment, hidden in scientists' homes, that would have been useful in resuming uranium enrichment by centrifuge and electromagnetic isotope separation (EMIS).

* A line of UAVs not fully declared at an undeclared production facility and an admission that they had tested one of their declared UAVs out to a range of 500 km, 350 km beyond the permissible limit.

* Continuing covert capability to manufacture fuel propellant useful only for prohibited SCUD variant missiles, a capability that was maintained at least until the end of 2001 and that cooperating Iraqi scientists have said they were told to conceal from the UN.

* Plans and advanced design work for new long-range missiles with ranges up to at least 1000 km - well beyond the 150 km range limit imposed by the UN. Missiles of a 1000 km range would have allowed Iraq to threaten targets through out the Middle East, including Ankara, Cairo, and Abu Dhabi.

* Clandestine attempts between late-1999 and 2002 to obtain from North Korea technology related to 1,300 km range ballistic missiles --probably the No Dong -- 300 km range anti-ship cruise missiles, and other prohibited military equipment

Kay also stated they have found:

A very large body of information has been developed through debriefings, site visits, and exploitation of captured Iraqi documents that confirms that Iraq concealed equipment and materials from UN inspectors when they returned in 2002. One noteworthy example is a collection of reference strains that ought to have been declared to the UN. Among them was a vial of live C. botulinum Okra B. from which a biological agent can be produced. This discovery - hidden in the home of a BW scientist - illustrates the point I made earlier about the difficulty of locating small stocks of material that can be used to covertly surge production of deadly weapons. The scientist who concealed the vials containing this agent has identified a large cache of agents that he was asked, but refused, to conceal. ISG is actively searching for this second cache.

Finally, Kay said:

There are approximately 130 known Iraqi Ammunition Storage Points (ASP), many of which exceed 50 square miles in size and hold an estimated 600,000 tons of artillery shells, rockets, aviation bombs and other ordinance. Of these 130 ASPs, approximately 120 still remain unexamined. As Iraqi practice was not to mark much of their chemical ordinance and to store it at the same ASPs that held conventional rounds, the size of the required search effort is enormous.

The abover excerpts from the Kay report are provided by Andrew Sullivan

So will someone please, pretty please, tell me where The President lied about WMD in Iraq? I suppose that many in the Democratic Party became so accustomed to defending President Clinton's lies, they no longer can tell the difference between falsehoods and the Truth, Or if you believe Ann Coulter, they know exactly what they are saying

Bad news for the Democratic party(I will try to quell my giddiness)

Job Growth in September Suggests "Turnaround" in the Job Market
A report released today shows that 57,000 new jobs were created in September, "suggesting a turnaround" in the job market according to the Associated Press.
The growing job market is just the latest sign of a stronger economy. With 3.3% growth in the second quarter of 2003 and a projected 6% growth in the third and fourth quarters, one economist saw a "Bush Boom" ahead.
President Bush met with small business owners today to discuss his plan to sustain economic growth and create jobs. His six-point plan will help small business owners provide health insurance to their employees, reduce bureaucracy, and focus on job creation rather than junk lawsuits.

That just goes to show you, that when you stake your political fortunes on the failure of America, you will loose every time! Take Tax money away from the Government and return it back to the great people of this Nation, and the economy will once again begin to boom! I just wonder if 15 years for now, liberals will still be arguing that Supply-side economics does not work? Considering most liberals are still arguing that the Rosenbergs and Alger Hiss were innocent, I suspect that they will.
